Philly

So for spring break we went to Philadelphia! It is a seven hour drive from Cleveland. A big reason we went was to watch Ben wrestle at the NCAA National tournament. The other BIG reason was to let Riley test-taste the famous Philly cheese steaks.I've never seen someone so excited. He had at LEAST 2 a day. The winner was a toss up between Pat's and Geno's. That guy can eat!
Back to Ben...he went into the tournament unseeded and ended up beating #7, 8, 4, and 5. He lost against the one-legged guy who was ranked first (and took the title) and in the end wrestled the #3 seeded guy for 3rd or fourth. He became the first UVU wrestler to come home an All-American and place 4th in nationals! They called him "Cinderella Man." Yeah Ben! We were so proud of him and had a fun time watching him. His family was kind enough to let us in their balcony suite during the tournament, which played out nicely with Macy.
While we were there we got to see a part of American's history. (I also learned a lot of history myself on the drive there. Riley quizzed me on a few things...lets just say history isn't exactly my strongest suit! LOL) A few things we saw were the Liberty Bell, the National Constitutional Center, the Betsy Ross house, a tour on a carriage ride (my favorite), Independence Hall, a few shopping places, cheese steak, more cheese steaks, and many, many more cheese steaks! LaCol got to go to a few museums that we had to sit out on, due to Macy! She went to the museum where Rocky ran the stairs, not sure what it's called.
Did I mention MONEY?? It was an expensive trip (but worth it). Between paying tolls (which I think is ridiculous) and parking, those little things add up! Macy had a great time in the warm weather though! She played on the grass and we went swimming with her. All in all, it was a wonderful break from reality! It's almost a sad thing to come back to cold Cleveland.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the last night in our hotel... it was a night mare! I will cut the story short and just say that  between a fight breaking out at 1 in the morning and lasting well over an hour, crude language all night, Riley calling the police, a couple next to us getting into a screaming argument about civil rights at 2 AM, calling room service, the other room next to us having a party from 2-4 AM with at least 10 people, calling room service AGAIN to take care of the problem, and being scared for our lives all night, lets just say we DIDN'T GET ANY SLEEP! I didn't think so many things could go so wrong in one night. It was insane to say the very least. Never again Four Points by Sheraton! We will be sure to steer as far as possible from you in the future!
Minus the last night the trip was wonderful!
Riley is back in school now and informed me he only has 5 more weeks until his first year of dental school is finished! Whoo whoo! We are counting down the days until we go to Utah!
