The Pumpkin Patch

Last week we picked grapes and apples with the Curtis family. It was a lot of fun! It is always nice to get out of the house. The area we went to was beautiful! It almost put Oregon to shame! I love fall time with all the leaves changing colors. We also bought a pumpkin. It was fun to watch Macy try to climb all over them! We are going to carve it this week…

Macy's Birthday!

My baby is all grown up! We celebrated Macy's birthday yesterday. I am proud to say that I made my first cake (actually 2nd... I also make one for homecoming). It WAS my first fondant cake though. I told Riley I wanted to make it and he thought I was crazy. He really wanted me to buy one, but of course, why would I listen to him? I never do that. :) At least he says so! So it took a lot longer than I thought it would. (Due to the fondant drying and cracking, so I had to start all over and make several more batches!) I never thought it would be so much work to make fondant black! I think I used the entire bottle of food coloring, with 1/3 of it on me! But it turned out cute and I had a lot of fun doing it! The cake was strawberry cream cake. If I had to do it over again, I would make a different recipe. It tasted dry and wasn't anything special... my typical style of cooking! Lol.
We got Macy a kitchen and laundry set and a cute tea set. She loves her new kitchen and my hope is to one day retire my kitchen and have her take over. Every Mom's wish, I'm sure! Special thanks to everyone that was able to come, we had a good turn out!
